5. Understand ownership changes

Read the end-of-contract provisions now.

  • Transfer eligibility, fee, and deadline
  • What happens after a total loss or repossession
  • Dispute and complaint process

6. Final document check

Keep a copy of what actually controls.

  • Complete sample agreement received
  • State amendment included
  • Verbal promises located in writing
  • Blank or unknown fields marked for follow-up
  • Agreement and vehicle records stored together
